Meet LESSology design team member Mitra Pratt!

 photo LESSology-meet-design-team-member-Mitra_zps61da4c2d.jpg

We are pleased to welcome Mitra Pratt to the LESSology design team! :)

HEY! Waving inky fingers! This is Mitra from the North Country in upstate New York. I live between two towns that have four colleges between them.  We have approximately the same number of college bars as thrift stores! I do so love thrift stores. I like to take something that is nearly free and mix it up with modge podge, spray paint, vintage book pages, and alcohol inks to make something unique and special.

I am over the top excited to be asked to design for the LESSology Blog. I love their challenges and using something recycled is good training for life. Shopping around the house or up-cycling not only saves you money but makes you appreciate your talent when you improve it!

My life is quiet here in the middle of nowhere although two kids, two dogs, and one feisty cat do their best to keep me on my toes. I have the opportunity to work at home long distance in another state. That also keeps me out of trouble.

Here's a look at some of Mitra's fave projects...

Please leave a little love for Mitra! :)

LESSology Challenge #25: Guest designer Kishley

 photo Announcing-our-guest-designer-Kishley_zpsad6249d7.jpg

Our guest designer this month is Kishley of Kishley's Studio. :) Let's check out how she was inspired by LESSology Challenge #25: For the love of fabric.

Hi everyone, I am Kishley, an avid papercrafter, a compulsive hoarder, someone who loves to travel and a doting mom with a touch of craziness to add a little zing to life.

I am no good in planning things, so much so that i made this fabric-album-cover project almost as soon as i got the mail from LESSology to be a GD and yet I am running to post it to them on time.

I made a mini album for my daughter and i am going to fill this in with pictures of her and other family members. Grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins and us.

I have used fabric for first and last page of papermania bare basics chipboard album and colored sides of inside pages with metallic marker. It gives a nice feel to the complete album.

I embellished the cover with fabric flowers, feathers, Family-label, Alpha flowers and my colorful anklet. I lost its other pair and it just went with the colors of this album.
Hope you like what i made.
Love,
Kishley

Isn't it a sweet album? I especially love the colourful anklet she added. It adds such a special touch. Please leave a little love for our guest Kishley.

Hope she has inspired you to play along with LESSology Challenge #25: For the love of fabric. We would love for you to play along!:)

LESSology Challenge #25: Creative inspiration of Linda Lapotka

 photo Challenge--25-For-the-love-of-fabricdesignteamprojects_zpse276fc2f.jpg

Hello friends! Ready for a little more creative inspiration? Let's see what design team member Linda Lapotka came up with for LESSology Challenge #25: For the love of fabric.

Hello There! Oh boy do I love this challenge. I found some American Fabric at a garage sale and needed to make some stick pins for a swap I am in. So when the ideas started coming for this swap I was in 7th heaven.
I took the fabric and made some little bags. I filled them with crushed walnuts.

Then I made some little cloth match books, and added some lace and ribbon.

Next I added the stick pins.

I finished them off with a little button and a snap.

Here is the video of what I did.

Hi everyone!!!
So excited about this month's challenge!!! Using FABRIC!!!! YUMMMMM!!!

I was inspired by Jennifer Edwardson and an altered embroidery hoop she made for the Bella Blvd. blog :) I started with a 14 inch embroidery hoop I found at an antique store a few months ago :) I misted the hoop and set it aside to dry :)

Then I grabbed some vintage fabric a friend had given me awhile ago :)

I took the fabric and then took some 'negative' hearts (from Bella Blvd. papers)  that I had saved from a layout I made a month ago ... and laid them on the fabric ....

Then I misted the 'negative' hearts right onto the fabric :)

And here is my end result :)

I made some of my rolled flowers for this project :)

Hope you all can join us!!

Julie :)

 Hello it's Lynnda Hosni here..
Today its my turn to reveal my upcycle project for
....So for this month we want you to dig up some fabric stash....
it could be from an old skirt or dress that you no longer want them...
cut few corners and stick it to your project!!! Walla done!!! {LOL}
I cut this fabric out from my old pillow case.... to use for the cover
of my mini album...besides the Fabric, I used the cardboard from the back of 6x6 paper pad..
there you go...these upcycle can be easily found on your crafty desk!!..No hard work!

The Fabric and cardboard:

So here is my mini album....
Photos were from my recent holiday trip to LA!!
