LESSology Challenge #45: Creative inspiration of Lizzy Hill

 photo Challenge-45-Ribbon-Fantasy-Design-Team_zps3lrznpxa.jpg
Hope the design team has inspired you to create project for LESSology Challenge #45: Ribbon Fantasy. But how about one more dose of inspiration to end the week? Let's admire the project from design team member Lizzy Hill.

Guess which box I tackled? Originally it held Tim Tams in it, I think!!!
And after! A bit better, eh? NOTE: Ribbon has been used!!!
And 'blinged up' with silver glitter NAIL POLISH. Of Course!!!
I even added in seam binding and tulle ribbon BESIDES the ribbon 'flowers' I created...
It's easy to make ribbon flowers using Glubers as a base, I find. I hadn't played with them for ages, so it was actually fun. But don't tell on me!!!
And to 'switch it up', I used all 3 of these in the one flower....to give it added texture......
...& of course, gessoed over the top to add  a softer colour, a layer of protection & stiffness....
The tin was covered in old paper from Zeus & Zoe, with my BOSTIK PVA glue. Worked a treat!

The Glam Shot!!!!! Ric-Rac got a look in, too!!
So, what can YOU do with ribbon? We'd love to see your take here at LESSology this month - & remember, you just need to use one upcycled or recycled element.
Happy Scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

LESSology Challenge #45: Creative inspiration of Mitra Pratt

Have you been rummaging through your ribbon stash for scraps that can be used for LESSology Challenge #45: Ribbon Fantasy? How about some creative inspiration from design team member Mitra Pratt?

I am in the SPRING MOOD here despite the fact we keep getting snow! However, the sun feels warmer so it has to be on it's way! Trying to keep the flower projects flowing to drive away the snow!

This lantern started off brown and was sent to me from a bloggy friend to alter. I thought spraying it gold with a hint of purple and adding sparkles was just the thing!

The purple ended up more on the top and then of course I added some mists to make my hand rolled roses shimmery!

Used a smidge of moss as well and some twisty vine berries.

The hand dyed ribbon really accents those roses. I have a tutorial on my blog for hand dying ribbon from stamp pads. Hop on over if you want to see how I made it. This ribbon got really crinked very a very vintage feel.

I'd love it if you gave it a try when you play along with our ribbon challenge here at LESSology!

Hello there , are you ready to play along with our Ribbon Fantasy challenge?
Pull out some fun, colourfull and crazy patterned ribbons and be creative with at least one upcycled item/product

Here are mine ...
...an old IKEA jar I have used in the kitchen for tea bags, some  blue Sizo Web which are leftovers  from my nephew' s confirmation, and a pink flower from an easter bonnet my DD made in 6th grade at school.

...and here is the finished Jar, decorated with fun and colourful ribbons

The big bow ribbon was used as  christmas present wrapping and as a hoarder I am, I kept it for a rainy day ;)
The lid was  first covered with the blue sizo web using hot glue to make it stick properly, and then the
lace trim was glued down  around the edge, finishing off with the flower and some "bling".

Like the lid, the jar was first covered with the blue sizo web and then the ribbons were wrap around using hot glue to make it stick properly.

and now the jar is used to keep my rolls of  metal wire, all in one place :)

We would love to see your creative ideas, and what you come up with using ribbons and at least one upcycled item :)

LESSology Challenge #45: Creative inspiration of Yvonne Yam

Are you looking at your ribbon scraps and wondering how to incorporate them for LESSology Challenge #45: Ribbon Fantasy? How about checking out how design team member Yvonne Yam interpreted the challenge?

Hello there! I wanted to challenge myself to use up the little bits of black ribbon I had in my stash so I created a black and white mixed media canvas. :)

Black-and-white-mixed-media-canvas

The base of the canvas was created with diecuts from packaging material, old computer cables and Golden fiber paste used with Th Crafter's Workshop stencil. The whole canvas was then covered with black gesso.

White gesso was then applied to all the raised surfaces. Then I added some thin black ribbon strips in between the cables to create contrast. I also embellished the cable head with black glitter ribbon.

The blooms were fashioned out of ribbons too. Hope this has inspired you to create something for LESSology Challenge #45: Ribbon Fantasy.
