Woodgrain is so popular these days and craft manufacturers have thought of ingenious ways to incorporate the woodgrain design. Check out how design team member Lizzy Hill used her woodgrain elements for LESSology Challenge #49: Woodgrain.

That's right - what a FUN LESSology challenge this month.
Use WOOD or anything with a wood grain pattern on your project this month.
Just remember to up or re-cycle at least one element!
This month I created a LO:

I must say, this Kaisercraft paper is one of my all-time faves.
And it's got that wood grain look. BONUS!
Some closies of my other wood bits & recycled stuff:
Fellow DT member MITRA sent me some buttons on their [vintage] cards, a while back.
Seemed fitting to use them here!
 Note the wooden frame.
And the wood veneer style letters for the title below:
Lots of wooden hearts & chevrons.
And some more old buttons!
The diamente trim belos is actually off a pair of sandals that I threw out!Salvaged the pretty bits first, of course;) NB: WOOD SEQUINS.....pretty cool, eh??!!!!
Wood is such an EASY thing to create with.....looking forward to seeing what you come up with.
Cheers ~ and happy scrapping ~ Lizzy ♥♥♥

LESSology Challenge #49: Creative inspiration of Mitra Pratt

Are you enjoying the woodgrain-inspired projects so far? We sure hope so! Today's inspiration for LESSology Challenge #49: Woodgrain comes from design team member Mitra Pratt.

I have really been digging candlesticks lately...well, it might be because I keep finding really good single candlesticks at the secondhand store! And I'm pretty sure they are lonely so I take them home with me....

This one was awesome with some brassy gold and those crazy feet! I added some alcohol ink to accent the details and some dyed lace with a pretty flower.

You might be wondering by now who exactly Mad Eye Moody is besides the character in Harry Potter. Well, we have a new pet chameleon here at Pratt Inc. that we named Mad Eye. She is exceptionally grumpy and perpetually looks around her home for her pet crickets. We would have named her something else if we had actually known she was a girl...so sometimes we call her Gizzard or Madeline...if you want to see baby photos, I blogged about her here!

My daughter made the font up for the little canvas & found the cricket graphic for me. She also pointed out that really cool metal & bead chameleon at the store that I used to perched on a real birch branch! It makes me happy every time I look at it!

What a fun project! I hope you are inspired to play along with us at LESSology for our Wood Grain challenge! I do hope it puts a smile on my grumpy lizard's face! We put it by her cage!

LESSology Challenge #49: Creative inspiration of Tone-Lill Angelskår

Today's creative inspiration for LESSology Challenge #49: Woodgrain is from design team member Tone-Lill Angelskår. Let's check out what she came up with....

Hello and Happy Wednesday :) You have probably noticed that our new challenge is up, our July #49 and it is Woodgrain we would like to see on your project. Please remember to use at least one upcycled item and it would be nice if you could point it out for us as it might not be easy to spot.

I have used (as you can see on the picture below) a wooden
metre-mesure, jamtart tin and sizoweb leftovers from Christmas.

I used a  white #8 manila tag as a base and several different diecuts, doilies, bling and flowers with the meter measure to make a "Bottle-Tag" for a "bubbly" present for a 50th Wedding Anniversary ;)

I broke off the metre measure where the 50 cm was in centerand used that for the 50th Wedding Anniversary. As you can see, the sentiment is in Norwegian with a circle around  the "50".

A copy of the original wedding photo was fitted to the bottom of the tin, which work as a photoframe.

There are more inspiration to come over  the  next week or so,and we would love to see your own upcycled creations using some sort of wood grain on it. So Please stay tuned for more inspiration to come :) Bye for now :)

LESSology Challenge #49: Creative inspiration of Yvonne Yam

Ready for a whole week of creative inspiration for LESSology Challenge #49: Woodgrain? Let's see what design team member Yvonne Yam came up with.

I decided to make a quirky mixed media canvas with as many found objects I can from my "save-it-for-a-rainy-day" stash.

The base is wrapping tissue from packaging, layers of paint applied with stencils.

Then I had a field day embellishing with my "trasures".

Yep...I even had a wood slice in my stash. Perfect for a rub-on quote.

The embroidered leaves on leather were from an old pair of shoes. And there's even a black bra strap. Yes, I'm a "collector" of everything. *LOL*
